Readings and Performances: Video & Audio

A great reading on 12/13/25 at Segue, at Artists Space in Tribeca. I was thrilled to be on the bill with the terrific Sue Landers. So happy read in this series, curated by James Sherry and Lonely Christopher. And proud to be able to say that I’ve read at every location at which this series has been hosted, back to its first season at the Ear Inn. This event also marked the launch for my new book, Next! (new poems).

Our OtherWords reading in Great Barrington, MA on April 26 2025, with a splendid reading by Abigail Child, introduced by me. For the second half of this evening we held an informal tribute to the late great Pierre Joris, with readings of his poems and translations by Abby, Evelyn Reilly, Geoff Young and myself. Thank you Cole Heinowitz, for this recording.

In November 2023 the Poetry Project served for the third time as the producer for a dramatization of my work, presenting in the church’s Sanctuary, I AM ANGRY AT A FORCE I CANNOT SEE: BASED ON THE POETRY OF MICHAEL GOTTLIEB, a staged adaptation of ‘The Voices’ my long poem about Covid and NYC (which appears in the Selected Poems), and ‘The Dust,’ my long poem about 9/11. This production was conceived and directed by Chana Porter, with the generous support of the Axe-Houghton Foundation. The performances coincided with the publication of my Collected Memoirs (unedited video, running time: approx 1 hr)
